Steel Industry

Steel production, like every section of a steelmaking process, uses large amounts of water. It is no coincidence that these plants are located in the immediate vicinity of water reservoirs, usually fresh water, which first requires pre-treatment for the cooling circuits and for the purification of gases from the blast furnace, continuous casting, rolling mills, etc.

Although numerous measures (Reduce-Reuse-Recycle) have been introduced to significantly reduce the amount of fresh water per tonne of steel produced, the increase in demand has seen an increased demand for specific water treatment through water recycling and process optimisation.

At the same time, stringent environmental regulations have significantly impacted this sector, requiring the implementation of customised solutions for the optimal management of the integrated water cycle (cooling, steam circuit and waste water) of an industry that in the past was labelled as highly polluting to the detriment of the environment.
